In a recent ruling, the European Court of Justice gave its judgment regarding respect for exposure of workers to noise. In practice, the EMPLOYER must reduce the NOISE at source without taking account of any noise reduction afforded by Personal Protective Equipment (European Court of Justice, Sect VII – Ruling of 19 May 2011 – “Directive 2003/10/EC – Exposure limits – Noise – Hearing protection – Intent”)
